Why We Are Doing It

Rural regions in Assam, including Titabor, face significant environmental challenges that threaten both the ecosystem and the livelihoods of local communities. Deforestation, driven by rapid urbanization and unsustainable agricultural practices, has led to soil erosion, reduced biodiversity, and increased vulnerability to natural disasters such as floods and landslides. These environmental issues are further exacerbated by the impacts of climate change, including unpredictable rainfall patterns, prolonged dry spells, and rising temperatures, which collectively disrupt agricultural productivity and water availability.

Compounding these challenges is a general lack of awareness about climate change and environmental conservation within these communities. Many residents are unaware of sustainable practices that could mitigate environmental degradation and enhance resilience against climate-related threats. This gap in knowledge hinders the adoption of adaptive strategies essential for sustainable living and environmental preservation.

Recognizing the urgency of these issues, the Green Pacific Global Care Foundation (GPGCF) initiated a comprehensive Tree Plantation and Climate Awareness Campaign in Titabor. This initiative aims to restore ecological balance through reforestation efforts and empower the local population with knowledge about climate change and sustainable practices. By integrating tree plantation with educational programs, GPGCF seeks to foster a culture of environmental stewardship, ensuring that communities are not only aware of the challenges posed by climate change but are also equipped to implement solutions that promote ecological sustainability and enhance their quality of life.

For Whom We Are Doing It ?

This campaign targets the residents of Titabor, with a special focus on underprivileged communities, women, and children. By involving these groups, GPGCF aims to foster a sense of ownership and responsibility towards the environment, ensuring the sustainability of the initiative.
